Clay Pavers
Clay bricks have been around for hundreds of years and are still a staple in our landscapes; beautiful robust, warm and versatile, these pavers provide a timeless characteristic for your garden path or driveway.
Limestone Pavers
Engineered limestone pavers are large, striking, cool and refined. The thermal and non-slip properties of limestone pavers make them perfect for our hot summer days and for use around pools, spas and entertaining areas.
Travertine Pavers
Bring a touch of sumptuous luxury into your outdoor area with the addition of travertine stone pavers. Available in multiple marbled colours, showing a beautiful variation of tones, this choice will make your entertaining or pool area fit for royalty.
Common Paving Patterns
The Venture Outdoor Paving Process
At this stage we choose the finished floor height for the new paving. We then remove existing pavers, topsoil and detritus material until we are left with an unobstructed surface ready to accept substrate for compaction.
Here our chosen substrate is spread and compacted. The thickness and type of substrate used will depend highly on the type of paving and environmental conditions. Brickies sand is commonplace and can be used for engineered limestone and clay pavers, whereas travertine stone paving requires crushed bluemetal (cracker) dust for added compaction strength. One may also opt to use bluemetal as the substrate if the area to be paved is going be in a high traffic area (driveway) or they have a problem with ants (natural termimesh).
In this stage the paving pattern is considered, and a start location chosen to limit cuts. The boarder is laid, and the surrounded section filled.
After the pavers are laid it is time to spread the fill. Fill used is either white sand or pavemate. White sand is good for all general applications, whereas we use pavemate, a setting fill, when the paving is located around constant water i.e. your pool. After the chosen fill is spread across the pavers it is brushed in with a stiff broom and compacted to its final level.
In the final stage of the paving process, concrete is mixed and applied to all the edges of the paving that do not immediately abut a solid wall or curb. This helps prevent the paving spreading under load or over time.
